Meet Heath Francis
Ive been singing professionally since the age of 12. I moved here to Hermosa Beach in 2003 with my original band The 3 Heads. We played all over the South Bay, and opened for a few large acts in Reno and Nor Cal like Five for Fighting and Sara Bareilles. Since then I’ve been singing in a few bands for weddings, corporate events, festivals, etc. all over the US. I also sing lead in a Journey tribute band and am Frankie Valli in a Jersey Boy tribute. Since the pandemic Ive been keeping it low key, I recently performed in the virtual Rock for Tots concert, and I have a new original song coming out soon.
One thing I can say about artists is we’re a resilient bunch. I moved away from my family to pursue my dreams, and LA is tough: I’ve had my share of rejections, but a lot of blessings. The pandemic has been a major hurdle to overcome, and I know Im not alone. Many of us are dealing with our industry being pretty much completely shut down. But it’s given me opportunity to get creative. Ive had a lot of time for that these days.
Like I mentioned earlier I sing in a few corporate and tribute bands. My mom loved soul, so growing up I listened to a lot of Stevie Wonder. I would lock myself in my room and agonize over his vocal runs until I could nail them. I also took a lot of influence from rock too. It took me a lot of work, but Id say Im hired for my versatility. Ive got a wide vocal range so I can sing Journey snd Frankie in standard key. For the wedding bands Im usually assigned the soul. Basically, Id say Im a fusion of Stevie’s: Steve Perry and Stevie Wonder, haha.
To me, wealth and success isn’t about how much you have its what you do with it. I just want to give back to my family and other artists out there. Ive been given a gift, and Im still writing my story. My purpose must be to share it.
